Family Constellations in Barcelona

My work is to help you look at what keeps repeating in your life — patterns that may not have started with you — so you can let go of what isn’t yours and reclaim your place.

What are family constellations?

We’re all part of a family system with its own order, its debts and its untold stories. Constellations are a working tool —not magic, not a mystical promise, not a matter of faith— for looking at that web from the outside and putting back in place what was out of order.

They don’t replace therapy or medicine when those are what’s needed. They’re a complement: one more way of understanding what holds your patterns in place, this time from the family fabric you come from.

Core principles

Order. Every family system has a natural order. When someone ends up out of place —through a secret, an early death, an abandonment— the system tries, without us deciding it, to restore balance, often at the expense of whoever comes after.

Belonging. Every member of a family system has a right to a place, including those who were excluded or whom we’d rather not name. Denying that place doesn’t erase it — it just makes it invisible.

Invisible loyalties. Sometimes we repeat fates, take on places that aren’t ours, or feel emotions that actually belong to another member of the system, out of a loyalty we never consciously chose.

Looking in order to reorder. Bringing the system into view lets everyone recover their place. When that happens, something loosens — not because we’ve understood more, but because something has been reordered inside.

“We often carry fates that aren’t our own. Naming them is the first step to letting them go.”

How does a session work?

You can work in two ways: in a group or individually.

In a group, you choose other participants to represent members of your family or elements of your story. They’re placed in the space, and from there information starts to emerge: positions, distances, what was hidden becomes visible.

Individually —in person in Barcelona or online— we work in an equivalent way using other resources: figures, markers in the space, or your own bodily sensations. You don’t need a group for the system to show itself.

In both cases, the session lasts about an hour, and it’s not about talking and analysing endlessly, but about looking, feeling, and allowing something to find its place.

When can it help you?

  • Patterns in your relationships that repeat over and over.
  • Difficulties with a parent that you’ve carried for as long as you can remember.
  • A feeling of carrying a weight that isn’t yours.
  • Grief that never quite closes.
  • Important decisions where you feel stuck, without quite knowing why.

They’re not the answer to everything. But for issues rooted in family history, they open a door that words alone sometimes can’t quite open.

How I work with this

Constellations support my work as a Gestalt therapist certified by the AETG; they don’t replace it. I trained at the Institut Gestalt in Barcelona, and I integrate them with respect and no magical promises.

If you feel like something keeps repeating and it may not have started with you, this can be a good place to start looking at it. You can also read how I work with Gestalt therapy, or the article Family constellations: what they are and what they’re for if you’d like a more personal read before booking.
